According to this guy, you need a high-quality 1.5A-2A power adapter, with a 5Gbps certified USB cable. yeah I just went out and purchased a 3 meter usb cable and a power adapter . about 20-30min. later the kinect is back alive!. Tested in on the PC and One X. Works great. Cost me about 10$.

The Series X|S can not use the Kinect even with this adapter.
