Step2: Right click on Age of Empires II and go to properties. Step 3: Click on Local File. Step 4: Click on search in local files. Step 5: Rename the Launcher2.exe. Step 6: Rename the AoK HD.exe to Launcher.exe. Step 7: Launching the game true Steam. This should fix the problem!

Whywould this belong on the Xbox forums? Age of Empires 2 is a PC game. A fairly old PC game, I'll admit, but a PC game none the less. This seems like an issue of Windows 10 telling me that I don't have permission to run a .exe file.

Onyour windows desktop, right click on the shortcut for age of empires. Go to Properties. Select the Shortcut tab. Beside "Target" there's a field that says "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\EMPIRES2.EXE" or wherever it is that you've installed. After the quotation mark, leave a space and type "normalmouse" (no quotations).
